  • Child and Babysitting Safety (CABS): Age 11+

    The Child and Babysitting Safety (CABS) program from the American Safety and Health Institute provides everything you need to know for safe and successful babysitting. At the end of class, the students will receive their certification card along with instructions to access a digital copy of the Child and Babysitting Safety (CABS) Student book. From getting started with your business to collaborating with parents and children, to key safety, caregiving, and first aid tips, CABS will help set you up for babysitting success. Students must be present for the entire class and complete achievement of the core learning objectives to receive certification valid for two years. Students attend this class independently and should come prepared with a notebook and pen.
  • Home Alone: Age 8+

    Is your child ready for the independence of being home alone? Parents need to be sure their children have the skills and maturity to handle the responsibility safely. Whether it is for an hour after school or several hours a day during the summer, being trusted to be home alone can be a positive experience for a child who is mature and well prepared. This class for children will address several topics relating to being "Home Alone" including age guidelines, safe habits, house rules, after school routines, phone calls, door knocks, dog emergencies, personal safety, handling the unexpected, gun safety, severe weather, fire safety, intruders, and first aid tips. Students attend this class independently and should come prepared with a notebook and pen. Parents are encouraged to review the take home information and discuss it with their child.
  • Drama Camp: Gr. 1-9

    Princeton’s Drama Camp is pleased to announce Moana Jr. as this summer’s workshop production. Our Camp Coordinator (Hannah Jenson) and the instructional staff (Justin Boneasera, Gracie Imholte, Alex Frantesl, and Emily Lubenow), are excited to bring this fun Disney story to the Performing Arts Center! Drama Camp is an excellent opportunity for students to create a sophisticated piece of art, collaborate with kids of all ages, work on self-confidence and teamwork, and getting outside of our comfort zones! Camp will feature lessons designed to introduce students to a wide range of theatrical skills like performance, design, direction, writing, and technical theatre through the lens of the show. All of this is done by employing student-driven, project-based learning through an immersive curriculum intended to challenge students academically and artistically. Drama Camp is organized into an all-day, two-week experience for students entering grades 4-9. Younger students (entering gr. 1-3) join for the mornings during the second week. The final morning, camp starts at 10:30am and runs until the show that night at 6:00pm. Students should wear comfortable clothes and tennis shoes with socks daily. Participants are expected to bring a bag lunch, morning and afternoon snacks, as well as a water bottle. Dinner (pizza) is provided prior to the final performance. Performance camp t-shirt (provided), blue jeans, and tennis shoes that preferably do not light up should be worn for the Friday performance.   • Pioneer School: Gr. K-6

    Thrill your children and travel back in time to experience real learning as it would have been taught (without electronics!) in the 1880s. All six grades are taught together in a one-room schoolhouse at the Princeton Depot. Students will experience outdoor games and simple crafts will be featured in hours of fun in and around the Pioneer School. Plus, depending on the session students will participate in spelling bees or cursive handwriting, square dancing or historical skits, and/or tasting pioneer foods There will be a School Exhibition on Friday for family and friends to attend and enjoy. Students will be showcasing some of the skills they have learned, followed by light refreshments. Bring a packed lunch, water bottle, an 1800s themed show-and-tell item.   • My Little Horse Camp: Ages 2-5

    Campers will get to ride a real horse in an arena, meet a number of our different horses at Boulder Pointe and learn about how to groom the horses . . . all with a focus on safety! In addition, students will do an art project and have an opportunity to make horse treats to feed their new friends. Stations are split into 15-minute intervals to keep everyone engaged. Parents have the opportunity to lead their child on the horse and take photographs as they go. Parent/Guardian: This 2-hour camp is designed for parent/guardian participation. Parent/Guardian is expected to remain with their child during the entire duration of camp. WEATHER: Camps are held rain or shine, as we have an indoor barn and arena.   • Horse Day Camp: Ages 6-15

    Kids will learn what it's like to have a horse for a day! Campers get to ride in the indoor and/or outdoor arenas for 40min-50min (no trails), practice how to steer, stop, turn, and walk on their own. They also might make horse treats, do a craft, and play games. And don't forget the time to meet and care for the horses, which is a big part of ownership! Campers are broken into smaller groups based on similar riding experience and age, which is perfect for both new and more experienced riders. Campers need to bring a lunch, snacks, and plenty to drink. Drop off is at 9am and pickup is 3pm. WHAT DO CAMPERS NEED TO BRING? ● Long pants, closed toe shoes, appropriate clothes for weather inside and outside of barn● No flip flops● Sunscreen/hat/bug spray● Water bottle/drinks/snacks and a lunch● Treats for the horses if you want● Helmets are provided WEATHER: Camps are held rain or shine, as we have an indoor barn and arena.   • 3-Day Horse Camp: Ages 6-15

    Campers will get to experience everyday life at a barn! Life in the barn will include activities such as daily riding, learning how to braid manes and tails with ribbon, grooming and caring for the horses (including bathing), and feeding them at the end of the day. This is a great time for campers to spend time outdoors and build lasting friendships with fellow horse lovers in a structured and positive environment. Campers are broken into smaller groups of similar riding experience, which is perfect for both the new and more experienced riders. Please note that riding takes about one hour per day in an arena (no trails) and consist of learning to how to steer, stop, turn, and walk/trot on their own. Campers will spend time on the ground with horses throughout the rest of the day. Campers need to bring a lunch, snacks, and plenty to drink. Drop-off is at 9am and pickup is 3pm each day.     Come experience life on the farm! We will start the day off completing morning chores together, then spend time playing with the animals, picking eggs, doing fun group activities, and having time to just be free range kids! Camp will take place at The 100 Acre Homestead in Princeton, and participants will need to be dropped off and picked up there.
  • Nos divertimos en español. "Let's have FUN in Spanish": A Jumpstart for Gr. 1-2 in the Spanish Immersion Program

    Let's have FUN in Spanish while doing art projects and playing all together! In this week-long camp, students will review their Spanish-speaking skills by playing games, singing songs, and doing fun vocabulary, reading, and writing exercises designed to review what they already know. These Spanish camps are for entering Grades 1-2 students who are a part of the Princeton Public Schools Spanish Immersion Program. Families can sign up for one or both weeks as the curriculum and teachers are different!

    Pizza Making with Pizza Barn: Gr. 3-5

    Learn the fine art of making a pizza from Pizza Barn, which was voted one of the top five pizza places in the State of Minnesota! It is all about using your own recipes from start to finish. We will guide you through the process of making our pizza dough from scratch and all the different sauces that can go on a pizza. You will learn that everything can be a potential pizza topping and how the cheese can make or break your pizza. Every participant will get a full tour of the Pizza Barn kitchen, a Pizza Barn t-shirt, a dry mix of our house pizza dough, a cup of pizza sauce, and all the skills needed to make a quality pizza right at home. After 43 years in the Princeton Community, we will let you in on a few of our tips, tricks and secrets!
  • Campout Camp: Gr. 4-12

    Do you enjoy camping? Do you love the outdoors and nature? This is the class for you! Join us for a one-week long campout camp where you will learn the ins and outs of camping and get tips and tricks along the way. Some topics that students will get hands-on experience with are shelters, building fires, cooking over a campfire, canoeing, packing, and traveling. The first day is spent at Princeton High School and the remaining days will be outdoors. The final two days of class will put the skills you learned to the test through a hands-on river paddle and overnight camping trip. There will be both a male and female chaperone on the overnight trip if we have boys and girls enrolled. Free/reduced rates cannot apply on this summer camp.

  • Stitch and Create: Introduction to Sewing: Age 8+

    This beginner-friendly sewing class introduces students to fundamental sewing techniques through hands-on, project-based learning. Students will complete several engaging projects designed to progressively build their skills and confidence. All sewing materials, notions, and machines are provided. Students will take home each completed project: Tote bag, PJ bottoms, and a drawstring backpack.
  • Sew Fun Fashion Camp: Age 8+

    This intermediate sewing class is for students who have completed an intro sewing course or already have basic sewing experience. Students will build on foundational skills while creating fashion-focused projects, learning new techniques, and gaining confidence as they design and sew wearable items. Class will end in a fashion show in the final 30 minutes of class!
  • Tila Bracelets: Gr. 5-12

    Stackable bracelets with popular Tila beads is a fun and trendy project. The flat, square shape of Tila beads makes for easy assembly and cute stacking options. Select from a variety of colors and patterns. Three bracelets are included in this camp.
  • Colorful Mosaic Tray: Gr. 5-Adult (Gr. K-4 w/Adult)

    Use a variety of bright, tiny tiles in different shapes and sizes to achieve a personalized look. Follow designs or create your own! The final result is a cute tray for jewelry and trinkets. This is a great class for families with younger kids to take together. You will share one set of supplies to create 1 tray. If doing so, be sure to select the Adult + Child option and enter child's name and grade. Students 5th grade or older do not need to have an adult attend with them.
  • Robotic Builders: Gr. 1-5

    Join Tech Academy instructors as we learn about robotics! With the LEGO® robotics system, young children can build and program their robotic creations. Designed by the experts at MIT, this unique system teaches children about simple machines, engineering, programming, and so much more. Young imaginations soar! The LEGO® Education Robotics Builder class allows students to explore different concepts in robotics. Possible models may include dancing birds, a hungry alligator robot, goal kicker robot, a rescue plane, and a smart spinner robot. Students will be working in pairs. Please bring snack and a drink.
  • Extreme Robotics: Battle Bots: Gr. 3-8

    This camp will energize and excite students by combining the LEGO® building system's versatility and the Mindstorms EV3 (the most sophisticated microcomputer brick ever made by LEGO®). Working in teams, students will construct fun LEGO® models, experiment with programs, and compete in robotic challenges. Robot building, block programming, and teamwork will be part of each day's activities. The final challenge will be a sumo battle. Please bring snack and a drink.
  • Bugged Out Water: Gr. K-6 with Adult

    Is there anything more exciting than playing with bugs? We will be digging right in and seeing what kind of buggy neighbors are swimming around the lakes and streams. This is a very hands-on session full of creepy crawly fun that will leave you with a better appreciation of how important insects are as well as what they can tell us about the water. Parents/adults attend with child.
